Swathers In Contest For USA Today's Most Unique Mascot

Help to make the Hesston Swathers the nation's most unique high school mascot. Vote now!  

Hesston Swathers are in a pitched popularity battle against the Fowler Goldbugs, Palco Roosters, Pratt Greebacks and the Salina Saint John's Military Muleskinners.  USA Today is holding a contest for the most unique high school mascot.

Five mascots from each state have been selected by USA Today staff. 

Fans can vote for their favorite mascot  at

Primary voting will end March 5. 

The state winners will the enter a second round, which will be broken down into six regions.  Second round voting will take place March 6 to 14. 

The final six contestiants will be in the running for $2,000 for its athletic department. Second place will be awarded $1,000, third ($500), fourth ($250) and fifth ($100).
