Hesston’s Coming Home celebration is fast approaching. However, residents who purchase wristbands to keep up with the flurry of activities will not go hungry.
Three meals are free and open to any and all Hesstonians who purchase Coming Home wristbands.
One of the first opportunities for tasty home-made food is the After-Prom Fundraising Dinner on Thursday, Oct. 3 at Hesston Middle School from 5 to 6:30 p.m.
Mary McGehee, co-coordinator of the After-Prom dinner said this is the seventh year for the event.
“The Chamber supports our After Prom event to serve this dinner for them,” she said.
McGehee said members of the After Prom committee work hard to ensure the dinner is a success.
“Some of the challenges are making sure we order enough food and drinks for the community. Getting enough volunteers to serve the meal and clean-up after the meal can be a challenge as well,” she said.
However, the After Prom Committee is not without help on the meal.
