The Hobbs Squad has become the official tailgate party group of USD 460.  Before each varsity home-game, The Hobbs Squad has been out in front of the stadium serving up food, drinks and laughs.

A core group of Hobbs Squad members, Logan Moulds, Cameron Juhnke, Andrew Dages, Josh Decker, Titus Ewert and Keegan LeFevre,

“Our goal was to make a group for tailgating and the student section,” said Juhnke.

Before the football season started, the group got together to kick around ideas and names for the tailgating party.

“We had a few ideas, Scott McGehee came up with the Hobbs Squad,” said Juhnke.

The students decided with the students section flagging, Swather fans needed a boost.

“The past few year support has been down, we are trying to rally that support,” said Ewert.

The Hobbs Squad hopes to inspire fellow students and adults to be enthusiastic about supporting the Swathers.

“The games are more fun when you have fans yelling in the stands. The players love it. It’s a fun time for everyone,” said Juhnke.

The first Hobbs Squad gathering took place on Sept. 6 before the Halstead game. The theme for the event was Beach Party.
