Larks Leap Into 2018 Hoops Action

After a long layoff, Hesston College jumps back into action on Thursday, Jan. 11 as both teams host Rhema Bible College. The women’s game tips at 6 p.m. followed by the men at 8 p.m. 

The Lark women are led by the sophomore duo of Whitney Green and Connor Atkinson. Green is averaging 11.4 ppg with Atkinson just behind at 11.1. Just before the break, the Larks picked up a huge win, 69-58 over Northwest Kansas Technical College, moving their record to 7-8. 

Hesston’s men have a 10-4 record while averaging 98.4 points per game. It’s the most points HC has averaged since the 1984-1985 squad poured in 92.9 points per game. Coye Campbell leads a quartet of double figure scorers with 19.7 ppg. Zac Neely dumps in 15.2 ppg with Aubrey Johnson averaging 13.9 and Cal Hartley coming off the bench for 13.8. 

Hesston continues its quick turnaround with a trip to McPherson College on Friday, Jan. 12 with both teams in action at 6 and 8 p.m.
